// Coverings

What are the types of covering?
In the furniture sector, Lamiecco have products for industry and for resale. For industry, there are coverings for cold flat presses, 3D thermolamination, profile wrapping and continuous surface laminations. For resale, we have coverings applied with solvent or PVA based glues.

What are the main characteristics?
Flexibility, strength and acceptance of different types of adhesives, from water-based to solvent, PU, PUR and hot melt.

What are the differences between them?
• For profile wrapping and continuous surface laminations, our laminate is thinner, from 0.20 to 0.35 mm. That gives the flexibility needed to make cold post formings, thus eliminating the need to apply a heat source.
• For application in cold or hot flat presses, the adhesive can be a solvent or water-based contact or PVA
• For profile wrapping or continuous surface lamination, hot melt or PUR adhesives can be used.
• For manual application, use a contact glue.
• Accepts cold postforming, folding 90° to 180° manually, easily making curved edges.

How it can be applied?
3D thermolamination machines, profile wrapping machines, continuous surface lamination machines, hot or cold flat presses and manual application.

Among the different types of laminates, are there differences in applications?
Yes, but the base covering material remain the same.

What are the types of covering finishes?
Textured, micro-textured, gloss, smooth or wood textured.

What are the differences between the finishes?
The final texture applied to each finish.

What are the main advantages for the woodworker to apply this type of system?
The product can be shaped according to your needs, extremely flexible, cold folded in both curved or live edges.

What benefits does it offer to the furniture?
Impact resistant, termite resistant and moisture and waterproof , colors don’t fade and yellowing of whites.

What are the difficulties applying the laminate to curved surfaces?
It’s the same application as in flat surfaces.

What the woodworker should do to apply in a curved edge?
Apply a contact-based glue, wait for it to dry ( Put your finger on it, if the adhesive doesn’t stick to your finger when you raise it, it’s good) and apply slowly and evenly on the surface. Press with a wood piece covered in felt  or a rubber rolling pin to remove any plastic warping due to its mechanical memory. You can also use a hot blower to slightly heat the surface.

What base material are needed to make this application?
For manual processes, you need a contact-based glue and we recommend a rolling pin and/or a hot blower.

What is the covering influence in the finished product?
Due to the color uniformity, when applied you don’t have any color differences in the finished product. Being 100% evenly pigmented, even bending it wouldn’t change it’s color.

Is it necessary to do preventive maintenance of a laminate? How is the maintenance done?
After applied, no maintenance is needed. All that need to be done is clean with regular furniture  cleaning products.

What is the product durability?
After applied, we give a 5 year warranty, but our products can last much longer in an indoor environment.

Can it be used in furniture for all environments? Eg: Outside, humid and warm areas?
Only indoors, but no restrictions to warm or humid environments.

How should the laminates be stored?
In a dry and ventilated place.

Can I use paint thinner or acetone to clean the excess adhesive?
Acetone and some paint thinners attack PET, so NEVER use those.  To clean, use a mild organic solvent. Remember to test beforehand in a small piece before cleaning the applied surface.

// Easy-Fixing

Can it be applied on Drywall?
Yes, just finish the joints as usual, lightly sand the work surface and remove all residual dust. The surface should be clean, smooth and free of imperfections.

Can it be applied in tiles?
Yes, after leveling the surface with plaster, lightly sand the work surface and remove all residual dust. The surface should be clean, smooth and free of imperfections.

Can it be applied over masonry walls?
Yes. If it is a painted wall, it must be sanded to create a minimal texture and remove any paint gloss. If it's only stucco, apply plaster, lightly sand the work surface and remove all residual dust. The surface should be clean, smooth and free of imperfections for installation.

Where can Easy-Fixing be applied?
Wood, Drywall, metal, aluminum, masonry walls, MDF, wall partitions, internal doors.

Can it be applied in damp environments?
No, since the adhesive is water-based and will react to too much moisture, having a risk of peel off.

Can I apply it in bathrooms?
No, since the adhesive is water-based and will react to too much moisture, having a risk of peel off.

Can it be applied in kitchens?
Yes, but away from heat sources, like stoves or ovens.

What is the max temperature Easy-Fixing can be exposed after applied?
Max would be 55°. 60° C it’s the softening temperature of the material.

Can I put bottles or glass on top of it, even if they leave a moisture mark?
Lamiecco is impermeable, so there is no problem.

Which products can’t be used to clean Lamieeco?
Most strong paint thinners, acetone and lye (caustic soda).

Which products can I use to clean Lamiecco?
Neutral dish soap, alcohol, turpentine-based solvents and glue removers. Always test in a small discrete  spot beforehand.

Can I use it in environments with a lot of direct sunlight?
No, the product is for indoors only, and preferable avoid North sunlight (South sunlight in northern hemisphere).

How to cut Lamiecco’s Easy Fixing?
With an edge trimmer or an utility knife.

How can I make joints with it?
The joint must be overlapped, for a better finishing. Consult our application manual or installation videos on our website for more information.

How can I cut it for molding applications?
Using a trowel, press and fold it. The trowel act as ruler and support. Trim excess laminate.

How to cold fold Lamiecco’s Easy-Fixing?
With a felt trowel, press and fold the laminate firmly until it keep its shape and glue to the surface.

Can I sand Lamiecco’s Easy-Fixing?
No, that would damage the surface.

Is possible to repair Lamiecco’s Easy-Fixing after applied?
Yes, you can check our maintenance manual on our website.

Can I apply it on round edges?
Yes, with a felt trowel, press it against the surface and rub to heat Lamiecco’s Easy-Fixing, thus removing any plastic memory and secure a good adhesion.

Can I apply to a round table by folding the edges?
We don’t recommend it, it’s better to apply it on the top and then use edge banding on the curved edges.

// 3D Thermolamination

How to apply the adhesive?
Apply using an airbrush or spray gun, taking care to apply a thicker layer on fragile spots, like edges and small crevices.

To mould it do I need to cover the entire machine tray with Lamiecco?
